I am using OALSimpleAudio to play all my audio and I want to 'speed up' a set of sound effects when the user presses a fast-forward button. Although something I thought would be a simple task turned out to be a greater problem.
After reading many similar posts, code files and documentations and understanding audio in generel I have come to the conclusion that this is not possible using only the OALSimpleAudio (or am I wrong?). Some posts, including this one http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11131631/avaudioplayer-rate, mentions that the AVAudioPlayer has a rate property which can be modified to gain this effect, to some extend.
How do I get from the ALSoundSource to the underlying AVAudioPlayer such that I can achieve this fast-forward effect? Is there even an underlying AVAudioPlayer or am I getting too tired? Is there any other way to achieve this effect?
My current solution is just to alter the pitch of the audio effects, although it does not give the exact feel I am going for.
Thanks in advance.
